You can also create a view in the <em>Views<\/em> environment by using the panel on the right side next to the view canvas and <strong>clicking<\/strong> either the<strong>&nbsp;default view<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image42.png\" alt=\"A picture containing objectDescription automatically generated\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\"> ,<strong> new view<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image43.png\" alt=\"A close up of a logoDescription automatically generated\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\"> or<strong> duplicate the current view<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image44.png\" alt=\"A picture containing objectDescription automatically generated\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\"> (if one is being viewed) <strong>button<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All created views of a module can also be seen listed on this right side below the view creation buttons. As mentioned before, each module contains its own set of views which you can explore below the Views node in the <em>Model Explorer<\/em>. You can build or customize an existing view page in a similar way to creating a model on the model canvas ( <a href=\"\/reves\/creating-the-model\/#adding-new-items-to-the-canvas\">Adding new items to the canvas<\/a> ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"The-default-view\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the-default-view\"><\/span>The default view<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With this view you get an overview of all the parameters in this module scope listed in input and output items, and a solution explorer item. By running a view you can create an empty solution set ( <a href=\"\/reves\/generating-solutions\/#starting-a-view\">Starting a view<\/a> ) and you can enter any necessary input in the input lists ( <a href=\"\/reves\/generating-solutions\/#providing-input\">Providing input<\/a> ) before starting a calculation ( <a href=\"\/reves\/generating-solutions\/#start-generating-solutions\">Starting a calculation<\/a> ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Adding-text-or-an-image-to-the-view\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"adding-text-or-an-image-to-the-view\"><\/span>Adding text or an image to the view<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can add these elements to the design view canvas by following same steps as adding them to the model canvas ( <a href=\"\/reves\/creating-the-model\/#adding-text\">Adding text<\/a> ) ( <a href=\"\/reves\/creating-the-model\/#adding-an-image\">Adding an image<\/a> )<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Creating-a-line-plot\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"creating-a-line-plot\"><\/span>Creating a line plot<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can create a line plot by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Drag<\/strong> the <em>Line plot<\/em> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image45.png\" alt=\"\"> item from the toolbox to the canvas or <strong>double click<\/strong> it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The line plot editor popup appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change the type of plot you want to insert. The default plot type uses <em>y(x)<\/em> expressions. <strong>Click the check box<\/strong> to change the plot type to using <em>y(t), x(t)<\/em> expressions.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>y(x):<\/em> you can define a y-axis expression using knowledge from your model and the increment variable <em>x_val<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>y(t), x(t):<\/em> you can define a y- and x-axis expression using knowledge from your model and the increment variable <em>t_val<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customize the axes by providing a label and unit (this unit is only used as a display label). You can also select whether an axis should be displayed logarithmic and customize the axes range that is used when displaying the lines when viewing the solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For each line definition you can do the following things\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Change the name of the line<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the line width, style and color.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the range of the increment variable and the number steps within than range to calculate the line with, separate these with an <strong>\u201c;\u201d<\/strong> in the input field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-not-stacked-on-mobile has-border-color has-custom-color-1-border-color has-custom-color-3-background-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-44468703 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-width:1px;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:5%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/tip.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-156\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:95%\">\n<p class=\"tipTable\" style=\"border-style:none;border-width:0px\">A trick to prevent a line from showing in the legend is to clear the name of the line. This way the line will not be included in the legend. You can see the visualization of your expression in the bottom panel of the edit window. If a line does not have a name if will not show as an item in the line legend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Adding-a-solution-plot\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"adding-a-solution-plot\"><\/span>Adding a solution plot<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can add a solution plot to the canvas by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Drag<\/strong> the <em>Solution plot<\/em> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image48.png\" alt=\"\"> item from the toolbox to the design view canvas or<strong> double click<\/strong> it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The solution plot item appears on the view canvas and has two drop down items without an item selected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the axes parameter you want to use for this fixed axis solution plot from the dropdown list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Adding-an-input-field-item\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"adding-an-input-field-item\"><\/span>Adding an input field item<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can create an input field by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Drag<\/strong> the <em>Input field<\/em> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image49.png\" alt=\"A close up of a logoDescription automatically generated\"> item from the toolbox to the design view canvas or <strong>double click<\/strong> it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The input field editor popup appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can add any parameter that should be shown in the input field by <strong>selecting<\/strong> it from the <em>Available parameters<\/em> list and <strong>clicking<\/strong> the <strong>Add button<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image50.png\" alt=\"\"> or <strong>double clicking<\/strong> the parameter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The order in which the parameters will be shown in the input field can be seen in the<em> Selected parameters<\/em> list. You can change the order of those parameters by selecting a parameter and using the <strong>up <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image51.png\" alt=\"A close up of a logoDescription automatically generated\"> and down <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image52.png\" alt=\"\"> buttons<\/strong> to move it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can remove a parameter from the Selected parameters list by <strong>selecting<\/strong> it in the list and <strong>clicking<\/strong> the <strong>Remove button<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image47.png\" alt=\"\"> or by <strong>double clicking<\/strong> the parameter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the selected parameters you can:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specify whether the value is required to be entered in the run view and what the initial value should be.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Override the a table parameter and enable entering a non-table value by&nbsp; checking the last checkbox to override.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify a display unit for this specific parameter item if a calculation unit was assigned in the model.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To assign a display unit you type the desired unit symbol or symbols. The pop up on the right side of the unit cell will display the understood unit, the SI powers of this unit and provides a shortcut link to select and insert a know unit from a list and to create a new custom unit. You can explore the results for selected axes parameters by selecting the desired parameters on the axes and selecting a solution point.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A solution explorer list which display all calculated solutions in a long list. You can change the order of those items by <strong>dragging<\/strong> the item in this list to another position in the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can add a group header to the <em>Selected parameters<\/em> list by <strong>clicking<\/strong> the <strong>Add header button<\/strong>. The parameters that are listed below a group header belong to that group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can remove a parameter or header from the <em>Selected parameters<\/em> list by <strong>selecting<\/strong> it in the list and <strong>clicking<\/strong> the <strong>Remove button<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image47.png\" alt=\"\"> or by <strong>double clicking<\/strong> the parameter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the selected parameters you can:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specify whether the parameter should be displayed on a logarithmic axis in the plot by checking the last checkbox.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify a display unit for this specific parameter item if a calculation unit was assigned in the model.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To assign a display unit you type the desired unit symbol or symbols. The pop up on the right side of the unit cell will display the understood unit, the SI powers of this unit and provides a shortcut link to select and insert a know unit from a list and to create a new custom unit. When a view has no solution controller of any kind a general view warning is given is given when you try to run the view.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Adding-a-custom-parameters\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"adding-a-custom-parameters\"><\/span>Adding a custom parameters<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For an <em>output field<\/em> or <em>solution explorer<\/em> you can define and add a custom parameter with the <strong>Manage custom parameters button<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/Image55.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\"> in the<em> Available parameters<\/em> list <strong>toolbar<\/strong>. In the <em>Define a new parameter<\/em> window, you can type your <strong>expression<\/strong> do define a new parameter. You can press &#8220;<strong>CTRL + Space<\/strong>&#8221; while inside the text box to get a <strong>l<\/strong><strong>ist of available parameters<\/strong> and <strong>functions<\/strong>. Finally, click the <strong>add button<\/strong> to create your new custom parameter. Unlike regular parameter, you cannot specify the symbol of this new parameter, you can only define its value. The parameter symbol in the results for this parameter will in this case be the typed expression text. This calculation unit to display unit mapping is unique to each created view and only carries over to another view when you duplicate the view. You can set the default display unit for a calculation unit by defining a unit in the cell next to the calculation unit.&nbsp;Once you set a default display unit for a calculation unit, this unit will automatically be set as the display unit when you add a parameter with a matching calculation to a view element.
